Everyone who plays in an Armidale Basketball Association (ABAI) competition or program must be registered with Basketball NSW (BNSW). Registration is a Basketball NSW requirement - it covers you under Basketball NSW's insurance while you play or train, and without it you can't be added to a team.
What you're registering for
Registration is done through Basketball Connect, Basketball NSW's official player and game-management platform. Your BNSW registration lasts 6 or 12 months from the date you pay and the fee is set by age group. This is separate from any ABAI competition or team fees for the season you're playing in.
Who needs to register
All players across our competitions — Men's, Women's, Juniors and Aussie Hoops — as well as coaches and team managers. If you already play at another Basketball NSW association, that association is your primary registration and you'll only need a lower-cost affiliate (secondary) registration with us. Let us know if this applies to you.
How to register
- Scan the QR code above or visit the Basketball Connect ABA link - Register or update your membership on Basketball Connect
- Create or log in to your account and follow the prompts to register the player (use the player's own account/details, not a parent's, so age-based pricing and Active Kids Vouchers apply correctly).
- Complete payment to activate your registration.
- Check you appear on your team's roster before your first game.
Active Kids Vouchers
Eligible juniors can use a Service NSW Active Kids Voucher to reduce the cost of registration. Apply the voucher during checkout - you'll need to be logged in to the player's own account for it to work.
